    Andanças 2008

We arrived early...there were practically no tends and it seemed that not many people were around.
Our feet were already asking for some dancing and right after setting up our tends we went out searching for the early sounds of a festival about to be born...far away we heard a violin and we followed our ears. we came up to a little spot behind the church were we found a violinist and a flout player...we urged them to play for us to dance they did...and so it started!!

Out of nowhere people came out to dance, smiling and grabbing each others hands with no prejudices or problems of any kind, were you black, blue...a good or a bad dancer..
this is the spirit of Andanças!!

I was for 10days in this beautiful festival in S.Pedro do Sul, with old and new friends in a spirit of peace and music. It was the best festival I had ever been in...I confess that everyday my thougs went to friends I left in Italy and that I would surely appreciate to have near me to share these wonderful times in Andanças...But things are just like this...maybe one day we will find each other again or maybe not. What matters are the good times we spent together and all the wishing well that will always be in my mind for them.

Morena would have loved it and Anna would go crazy! Nil would be to happy to speak and Adriana would go nuts!! Reanatinha tu ia adorá mulééééé!
And I know some other few that would get lost in the crowd dancing until their feet would stop working...(if they ever would ...)

the pictures show some of the beautiful things I've lived there including my volunteer work and my great colleagues...but the atmosphere...well you have to be there to believe it...

thank you to those who shared it with me and made it such a great time...it was even better than all my expectations!!

    until next time:)

    In Bologna with dear friends

    Well life is still good:)

I'm about to leave Italy, I finished my period here...but before I go I wanted to spend some time with my dear friend Anna that I've meet in Milan and that now lives here in Bologna. Anna is one of the sweetest persons I've ever meet! Hee gentleness and the positive energy she transmits are equal to no other...

Thanks to Anna's shelter when i came back from Kenya I got to meet some people from Namasté, a wonderful organisation that works with children in Indian, and coming back to Bologna I had the chance to see them again...It was wonderful to hear all the stories about India, and to actually meet some Indian people living in Bologna. i could believe how nice they were...at dinner i could only licen and smile has I realised I know so little about India...but I'm eager to learn! :D

Of course staying with a friend also ment going out and drink a couple of beers...hihi..i got to meet Nancy and wonderfull and wild girl from Switzerland! It was great we really had a lot of fun! And then ...just to finish up greatly my time in Bologna I got to meet Felipe, a Brazilian boy, really funny and gentle...to bad he had to go back to Brazil today...it was anyway a wonderful serendipity!

haaa.. what can i say...life is great...I have a great friend and got to meet some really interesting people in a wonderful summer time in a beautiful city in Italy..
Now I just can't Wait to go back home and be with my dear Portuguese friends and my family!

    cheers from a  happy §andrita !:)

    Lyon & Kenya

portuguese & english...so that I can share it with all my friends
Fernando Pessoa

Fernando Pessoa was right when he wrote this (more or less):
"The value of things is not in the time they last, but in the intensity they happen. That's why there are unforgettable moments, inexplicable things and unique people."les palaisspiaggia a ewatamu tutti 4

since my last entry I've had the possibility of doing some travelling on a vacation that has been one of the best ones so far...I went to Lyon again with my dear friend Morena and then I went to Kenya to visit someone who was once more than dear to me and to get to meet a new continent, and see what really is voluntary work.
(I'll be adding these pictures to the blog some more will be here:http://picasaweb.google.com/sandra.tr )

In my eagerness for travelling and getting to know the world I can go trough all kinds of situations and still take comfort in the simple fact of looking at a different tree, listening to a different language ...just being in "another world".

I mainly went to Lyon to be with Morena, to do something for and with her, I will never regret it, I had the best time of my life and everything was great! French people are so nice!Lyon was incredible..and the party by the river was amazing...thank you Patrice!

Kenya was definitely a life experience I will never forget, I can now understand why some people talk about Africa with their eyes shining ... Its a land of such beauty that I would not dear to describe it, one can only understand it by being there. And people...everyone is so nice and so much pure...
Thank you Alessandro! And thank you too Sonia and Mariana my dear funny adventure friends!

At a personal level I might say it was a kind of conquest getting over the fear of doing such a big trip all alone and standing once again in front of what once got me broken hearted...putting myself in this situation made me realise that there are so many other things that are worth our attention! Living is an experience made of so many things and still we tend to focus on the one thing that might not be going so well instead of enjoying it at its full and in all the good things it gives us. I feel very lucky and I'm happy with what I have, having the opportunity of travelling, having friends, being independent and healthy are such wonderful things...I now ask myself why bother lose time thinking about disappointments or behaviours we will probably never understand?!...
Other people's minds are exactly that "other people's" and not even with all the energy of the world we will ever understand it..and why understand it...who said everything has to make sense?

I believe that there are still so many things to live, so many wonderful people to meet...so much joy to receive...things have happened in a way that I will never forget but I sure think that some new wonderful ones will still happen.. there's a big world to discover :-)

To sum it up after all the travelling after all the storm on my small head this is the idea that remains:
lets just live the moment at its full with no injuries from the past and thankful for what we got so far...because even the time of a single week or maybe a day can change your overall perspective of how inexplicable events are and how unique people can be...
you can never know when something wonderful is going to happen so better be prepared ;-)!!

to whoever read this until the end...thank you :D!..Glad I could share my thoughts!

    Fulgari 2008

Beautiful Morena took me to this great party in Taggia a small town near Sanremo, it was great it felt like home being in the middle of a small town with fireworks and music surrounding me...It was great being with friends and dancing looking in silence to all that surrounded me. Felt like absorbing and eating the place, it was definitely a great experience along with the trip that took me to it.

    I'm definitely Lucky;)!!
If you want to see some of the videos to this party...

    carnaval in Italy

It's been long since I've been in Italy and it seems like forever...
It's carnival and when I think of it I always think how the best Carnivals were always spent in Portugal with my dear friends Joana and Eva, making weird costumes made out of sponge and it was always the funniest period of the year...
Trying to find a new meaning to this period I decided to go with some friends to Venice, well since I'm near I might as well go and see one of the most famous carnivals in the world.
It was pretty nice I had a lot of fun! My new Turkish friends turned out to be a good surprise bringing a bottle of wine singing along and getting drunk on the streets!
I finally got my Venetian mask and tried to get into the spirit...

Well but there's nothing like being home enjoying Carnival with good old friend...yeah...feeling homesick...

Girls I'll be there on March! :)

    words that could be mine....

«Before Sunrise» * If there's any kind of magic in this world, it must be in the attempt of understanding someone, sharing something. I know, it's almost impossible to succeed, but…who cares, really? The answer must be in the attempt. * Isn't everything we do in life a way to be loved a little more?

    February in London
